The "Church of Jesus Christ of Saints of the Most High" was originally organized as the "Church of the First Born" under its prophet-leader Joseph Morris in 1858. The Church was the focus of the Morrisite War in 1862 at the Kingston Fort on the Weber River near Ogden, Utah. Several of the leaders were killed in this engagement, including Morris.
